Product photography inspiration

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I've been doing some research on product and advertisement photography in order to gain inspiration for my upcoming assignment. I stumbled upon a number of impressive and unique photographs, so here are some of my favourites: Still life These pieces were taken by photographer Irving Penn. I found myself really drawn to these photographs when viewing them from an artistic perspective.  The photographer had placed multiple objects in such a way that makes them compliment one another. Fragrance photography These pieces were taken by photographer Timothy Hogan. In this weeks lab, I challenged myself by taking photographs of a perfume bottle, and I found it really enjoyable when experimenting with different lights and colour gels. I decided to research and see various different takes on fragrance shots, and these two photographs were my favourite! I was fascinated by the different use of light and shadow. Although these photographs ...

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I wanted to challenge myself and prepare for my upcoming assignment, so I decided to bring in a perfume bottle and try to take a couple advertisement shots! Here is the outcome of my photographs: I’m very happy with the outcome of my photographs! Fairies & Fantasy 𓋼

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!  ♡ For my image manipulation assignment, I've decided to base my theme around the concept of fairies and fantasy. I've done research in order to gain ideas and inspiration for the costume, the positioning of my model(s), the setting etc.  I've created a Pinterest board for myself and also looked into a couple of photographers to observe their take on fantasy and fairy photography. We brought in a random object of our choice and experimented with various colours of paper and reflective plastics! Here is the outcome of my shots: I definitely think that a lot of improvement could be made, however, I'm still happy with my results and I had lots of fun! I'm looking forward to bringing more complex objects in the future in order to challenge myself and practice.

Deconstruct & Recreate ❀

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! (^ ^) This week, I've resourced a photograph from the internet and I deconstructed it's contents in order to recreate it and make it my own. Here is the outcome of my recreation: Overall, I'm very happy with the outcome of my photograph. I think that the colours blend into one another very nicely, and I like my placement of props and makeup. However, there are a couple things I could improve on, such as lighting accuracy. In comparison to the original image, my lighting turned out to be a lot softer. I also wish that there was a little more exaggeration brought to the gold leaf that I had placed beside my model's eye, since it's a lot more dim and unnoticeable than I would've liked. This was a very enjoyable assignment to work on, and I'm excited to create more projects in the photography studio!
