Image Manipulation *ೃ༄

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I took the time to watch "Impossible Photography" by Erik Johansson, who spoke about the beauty and intrigue of image manipulation. I found the video really informative, and there were various points of advice which really caught my interest. The first point being, was that in order to create a successful image manipulation photograph, your images must: 1. Be taken from the same perspective. 2. Be taken under the same light. 3. They must make it impossible to distinguish where the different images begin and end. The second point which really peaked my interest, as it is one that I agree with entirely, is that all the tools that we need in order to create a successful image manipulation photograph are all out there and available for us, but the only thing that really limits us is our imagination.

Editing photos in Camera Raw

Here are the outcomes of my photographs: White balance Contrast Adjusted brightness Shadows Setwhite Highlights Autocorrect Although I have experience with Camera Raw adjustments from semester one, it was nice to achieve detailed guidelines and examples, I found it to be very helpful and enjoyable!

Familiarising with new tools!

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! During the third lab of this module, I familiarised myself and practiced with some new Photoshop tools, such as the healing brush tool, spot healing brush tool, patch tool, content-aware move tool and more!  I faced a couple of challenges along the way, but I'm going to keep practicing and hopefully get the hang of everything as soon as I can!

Bounced flash & Off camera flash ⋆·˚ ༘ *

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!  ♡ In today's lab, we used the off camera flash and tried to bounce it off of the walls and ceiling in order to achieve different outcomes for our photographs. Here are some of my favourite photographs that I've taken: For this photograph, I turned the off camera flash upwards towards the ceiling, and this was the outcome! I really like how my friend's cardigan pops against the darkened background. I found it quite difficult to capture a harsh shadow, however, I managed to achieve this effect when I turned the camera upside down! While trying to achieve a harsh shadow effect, I took a couple of shots with the off camera flash facing my friend, and I'm really happy with the outcome since the photograph isn't too dark nor too bright. I took this with the off camera flash facing away from my friend. I think that this photograph could definitely be a bit brighter, but it turned out nice nonetheless! Overall, I found this lab r...

Practicing with Photoshop

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! ˙ᵕ˙ Over the last couple of days, I've been testing my learning and trying out various tools in Photoshop. Here are some of my creations: Egypt postcard Mr. Cigar advertisement I found this exercise to be a little more difficult than the others, so I couldn't complete it to its full extent, but I'm hoping to finish it in the near future! Fruit Just like the first exercise, I found this one to be quite fun and experimental in terms of the cut out tools and transform options!

Controlling on Camera Flash

Image
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I was introduced to the control panel of the flash on a camera. I found this lab really enjoyable and I'm very happy with the outcome of my photographs, although there's room for improvement. I think that this might be my favourite photograph out of the four. I like the contrast between the darkness on the left and the effective brightness on the right of the image. In my opinion, this image could definitely be a bit brighter, but I'm happy that I got to experiment with the camera's flash exposure compensation. Myself and my friends went outside in order to see the difference that the flash makes under direct light. I noticed that the flash had made the colours look a tad bit brighter and slightly more colourful! For this last photograph, I tried to experiment with the rear curtain flash on my camera. I found it to be a little tricky, so I'm hoping that I'll get some more practice in the future in order to i...
